WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Although the forecast for the upcoming week threatens the dreams of a White Christmas along the Lakeshore, the Ottawa County Parks Department has opened up a popular destination for cross-country skiers and snowshoe hikers for the season
The Pigeon Creek Park began operations for Winter 2018 on Saturday. From 7 AM to 10 PM daily, the park off of Stanton Street in West Olive will be open, with the cross country ski trails lit for nighttime travel, and a lit sledding hill is also on site. The Lodge has separate hours, with ski and snowshoe rental and ski lessons available. For more information, including updates on trail information, call 616-738-9531, or online at this link.
The forecast for the week has temperatures in the upper 30’s to low 40’s through Friday, with some rain showers predicted, before a return to the 20’s on Christmas weekend, with no snow expected at this point. More on the weather is here.
