Holland police continue looking for the suspect in the robbery of the Family Video store at 536 W. 17th St., reported at 12:34 p.m. Thursday. Officials told WHTC via Twitter Friday afternoon the suspect is still considered at-large.
The suspect was described to police as a “dark-complected black male, unknown age, approximately 6 feet tall, average build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.”
The suspect entered the store and demanded money implying that he had a gun, police said in a statement issued Thursday afternoon, then “fled southwest from the building with an undetermined amount of cash.”
Holland police were assisted by an on-duty Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department K-9 team, but tracking ended near the corner of 20th Street and Diekema Avenue.
Two area schools were notified by police to take precautions.
Police are looking for tips from anyone in the area at the time who may have seen the suspect just before the incident or as he was fleeing.
