Holland Man Hospitalized After Pre-Dawn Crash

PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 24-year-old Holland man was hospitalized after the vehicle in which he was a passenger slammed into a tree in the pre-dawn hours of Saturday. Nick Cooperh had to be extricated by rescuers after the crash off of 160^th Avenue near Lakewood Boulevard in Park Township. Deputies say that the driver, 24-year-old Andrwe Hellenthal of Holland, was driving southbound at “a high rate of speed” around 5 AM, lost control, spun sideways and skidded into the tree. Cooperh was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of what was initially descrived as a “severe” head injury, while Hellenthal, who was buckled up, was unhurt. The crash remains under investigation.
