GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – The threats of a winter storm striking the Lakeshore have passed, but another weather-related issue lies ahead.
The caution for five to eight inches of snow with northwest winds gusting from 35 to 45 miles per hour was cancelled around 7:30 AM on Sunday after the storm passed with far less that predicted results. Roads were still slippery for Sunday morning church goers.
However, National Weather Service forecasters in Grand Rapids say that lake effect snowfall will develop and persist along the Lakeshore through at least Thursday, with gusty winds and temperatures much colder through most of this period.
