UNDATED (WHTC) – It was a very good Saturday for Ottawa County’s four varsity college basketball teams on their home courts.
At DeVos Fieldhouse in Holland, Hope College registered a pair of victories. In the women’s matinee, Maura McAfee and Francesca Buchanan each scored 20 points as the Flying Dutch routed visiting Kalamazoo, 104-64. In the men’s nightcap, Ben Gardner’s 16-point performance sparked the Flying Dutchmen past visiting Trine, 74-51.
At the Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale, Grand Valley state swept a pair of games from visiting Michigan Tech. In the opener, Bailey Cairnduff tossed in 18 points as the women posted a 68-57 decision. The second game went to the Laker men, 64-53, as Luke Ryskamp tallied 14 points.
On Wednesday night, Hope College’s teams return to action. While the Flying Dutch entertain Calvin at DeVos Fieldhouse, the Flying Dutchmen travel to Adrian, with coverage on the Lakeshore’s 92.7 The Van at 7:40 PM.
On Thursday evening, the GVSU Lakers and the Soo Lakers of Lake Superior State meet in womens/mens play at Sault Ste. Marie.
