SOUTH HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Boating has always been a popular sport in the summer for many Michigan residents, but some have also enjoyed it in the winter. The Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven is aiming to instruct the public about the subject of ice boating.
During this event, Wisconsin native Dave Cambell will speak about what it takes to be an ice boater and share some history about one of Michigan’s most famous ice boats, the “Windchill.” The museum is actually restoring this 1940’s Meade Iceboat to sail it again on Michigan’s frozen waters.
This event takes place on The Michigan Maritime Museum Campus in South Haven today from 12-1 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and free for museum members.
