HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Fresh from a Tourism conclave in Northern Michigan, Sally Laukitis, executive director of the Holland Visitors Bureau, not only had great news to share about Pure Michigan, but also for the city of Holland.
Appearing on WHTC’s weekly segment, Destination Downtown, Laukitis says an analysis from Travel Michigan of the most clicked through tourism websites, Holland was the number two most clicked through site from April 1 to October 31, 2015, at www.holland.org , with Traverse City coming in first..
There are four new billboards up too with some promoting Holland’s Tulip Time and using the tag line “60 minutes and a world away.”
In Grand Rapids the “Beer City USA” moniker has helped for a record a spike in business last year as well. In Muskegon County, over a million dollars came in through the hotel-motel tax for the second straight year, and Grand Haven tourism officials say last year was their best since the 1980s.
Tulip Time runs May 7-14, 2016. www.tuliptime.com
