HOLLAND (WHTC) — Ottwa County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a report of strangers talking to six West Ottawa middle schoolers they waited for the bus early Thursday morning, at a stop near the corner of Riley and 120th Avenue in Holland Twp.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett said police didn’t learn of the incident until Thursday evenign.
The initial investigation indicates that a car described at a dark-gray, 1990s-era passenger car, possibly a Honda Civic, pulled up to the stop. The children described the couple in the car as about 40 years old, the driver as a heavyset Hispanic-looking man with short black hair and his front-seat passenger as a white woman with a medium build, long blond hair wearing a white and multicolored flowered print coat..
Police are in touch with West Ottawa School officials.
