GRAND RAPIDS. MI (WHTC) – The Grand Rapids Griffins will host their fifth annual Purple Community Game to this Friday to benefit the Van Andel Institute.
Purple is the color associated with cancer awareness and fans will be able to enjoy many purple elements from purple concession items to purple-themed songs and graphics during the game. There will be a chance to become a member of the Purple Community which is a group dedicated to connecting individuals who are passionate about fighting cancer and other neurodegenerative diseases.
After the game fans can bid on purple jerseys in The Purple Intermission Restaurant with proceeds benefitting the Van Andel institute.
Game time is 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Through an online ticket offer, specially priced lower level Center Ice tickets can be purchased for $23 per ticket with no service fees. The Griffin’s will take on the Charlotte Checkers.
