GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – The Winter Storm Warning is in effect till 4 p.m. today for most of lower Michigan including Ottawa and Allegan County.
At major airports in the Midwest flights have been cancelled or delayed so if you’re flying anywhere today check with your airline before you leave. Most schools are closed too. WHTC will have all the closings and delays on air and online at www.whtc.com
State offices in Allegan & Ottawa counties closed, including Secretary of State branch offices in Holland & Hudsonville.
Road crews are expected to put in long hours today. MDOT Spokeman Nick Schrippa says it started out slushy, but as temperatures dropped overnight, some of it began to turn to ice. State highways and trunk lines will be plowed first with side roads and rural roads everywhere being a challenge.
