HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Spring is on it’s way in the Holland/Zeeland area and it’s time to get out to enjoy some activities!
3/7 Monday: Full Contact Cocktails Competition at New Holland Brewing Company- New Holland is thrilled to host the 2nd Annual Full Contact Cocktails. Michigan’s top bartenders will travel to Holland to compete in a fast paced, high energy competition with secret ingredients and plenty of trash talk. The competition will consist of three rounds with contestants being eliminated each round. The winner of the Full Contact Cocktails will receive travel and hotel accommodations to Tales of the Cocktail 2016. 3/8 Tuesday: Holland Newcomers Dutch Costume Resale at the Holland Civic Center- Shop for new and gently used Dutch costumes in many sizes and styles. Any child participating in the Kinderparade will need a costume, so come early for the best selection. 150 West Eighth Street, Holland; 5-8 p.m.
3/9 Wednesday: What is Noise Concert at Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts- What Is Noise is an award-winning ensemble that has performed throughout the United States. The ensemble made its Carnegie Hall debut in May of 2014 as part of their “American Stories” concert tour that included performances in Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and New York. What Is Noise is passionate about building community by performing culturally relevant music and remains a strong advocate for new music and educational outreach. 221 Columbia Ave., Holland; 7:30pm; Free.
3/10 Thursday: Beyond the Books Benefit at Community Reformed Church- Join the Zeeland Action Coalition for this special evening to acknowledge youth and celebrate the efforts of bringing awareness to mental health. Special guest includes, Eric Hipple, former NFL quarterback and Detroit Lion. Eric will be sharing his experience with mental health and hope. Eric’s book, “Real Men Do Cry”, will be available to purchase the night of the event for ten dollars. Optional book signing to begin at 6:30 pm. Free will offering to support the Zeeland Action Coalition. 3/11 Friday: LaughFest: StandUp Showcase at the Holland Civic Center- Spend an evening laughing your head off enjoying these pros from around town and beyond. Free with Fast Pass. To pick up Fast Passes, visit LaughFest Central at the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) (opening February 22). 3/12 Saturday: Winter or Spring Hike at Hemlock Crossing- Spring Equinox isn’t until March 22. Will there be snow on the ground or will the early signs of spring surprise us? 3/13 Sunday: Craft & Vendor Show at Noordeloos Christian Reformed Church- Come and enjoy a day out with family or your girlfriends and enjoy some shopping in one location. Great way to start Spring.
