HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Cleats for Kids is a non-profit collect and share program dedicated to gathering and distributing of gently used soccer equipment. They invite all families, coaches and kids who need soccer equipment to contact them for support.
Cleats For Kids has designated collection bins around the Holland/Zeeland community located at specific drop sites. “Distribution Nights” are set up through Park and Zeeland township just prior to soccer season. Parents bring their players to try on the gently-used soccer shoes. High schools and summer soccer camps are also contacted to see if there is a need for our cleats. There is no cost for this service.
Board Member Amy Bade says they gave away 54 pairs of cleats last night at the Park Township distribution night. There will be more distribution nights in the months to come.
The program has been in place for over eight years and is the brainchild of the WARMONE women’s soccer organization. The Warmones are players and parents with children in the sport of soccer here in the Holland area. They also distribute to surrounding areas and even overseas on mission trips.
