HOLLAND (WHTC) – For the second consecutive year, Holland High guard Demetrius Lake has been named to the Michigan high school basketball Class A All-State first team.
Lake, a junior, broke his own single-season scoring mark he had set a year ago, averaging 31.2 points per game in leading the Dutch to an 11-9 record this season.
He went over 40 points in a game six times and broke the school single-game scoring mark on Jan. 15 against Zeeland West, when he scored 50 points, including the game-winning 3-point shot, in a 69-68 win over the Dux.
The All-State team, released by the Michigan Associated Press, is chosen by a panel of sportswriters around the state.
