BRADLEY, MI (WKZO) – State Police are trying to piece together why a suspected armed robber shot himself to death rather than be taken into custody Saturday afternoon.
Allegan County deputies responded to a report of a robbery at the Admiral gas Station in Martin at about 3:45 p.m. A deputy spotted a vehicle matching the description given by employees at the gas station and attempted a traffic stop.
The suspects bolted and after a short chase, crashed on 10th St. just north of 129th Avenue in Bradley.As officers approached the wrecked vehicle, one of the two suspects shot himself.
The second was taken into custody. State Police have taken over the shooting investigation.
No names have been released.
