Downtown Zeeland will host a small-scale Dutch Dance demonstration on April 25.
The 11th annual event is a chance for Zeeland residents to see their favorite Dutch-dancing family member in action in a less-crowded venue.
Zeeland events coordinator Kerri VanDorp says the annual demonstration is one way to help dancers get ready for their big-time performances in Holland’s tulip time festival.
“We close Main Street, the dancers come down and they do the dance at two different times,” VanDorp told WHTC. “One right at 6 and one maybe about 6:30.”
She said about 50 high school dancers in four groups will perform and some alumni groups may join in.
The dance will be on Zeeland’s Main Street between Elm and Church Streets.
Most downtown Zeeland businesses helped make Zeeland’s Dutch Dance evening possible, she said.
