Wayne Paul Folkert, 95, of Overisel, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior,
Friday, March 4, 2022.
Wayne was born February 7, 1927, to Edward and Anna (Kronemeyer) Folkert.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Jereen (Rynbrandt) Folkert, sister
Evelyn Boers, and brothers Rev. Robert Folkert and Irvin Folkert. He is survived by
his children, Ruth and Ernie Trippy of Auburn, Georgia; Rose and Henry Moore of
Overisel; Jan and Mack Whitford of Portsmouth, Virginia; Jim and Cindy Folkert of
Zeeland; Matt and Pam Folkert of Bradenton, Florida; 16 grandchildren and 20 great
grandchildren.
Wayne was a member of Overisel Reformed Church where he served as an elder
and catechism teacher. He also ran the Folkert TV repair business in Overisel for
many years prior to his retirement. Wayne served stateside in the US Navy from 1945 to 1946.
Wayne’s family would like to thank the staff of Resthaven Boersma Cottage for the
loving care given to their father during his extended time there.
The family will greet friends and relatives at the Overisel Reformed Church., 4706 142nd Ave, Holland, MI 49423, Friday, March 11, from 5-7 p.m. A memorial service will be
held in the Overisel Reformed Church, Saturday, March 12, at 11 a.m. Private interment will be in Overisel Cemetery. Memorial contributions to Overisel Reformed Church Mission Fund, or Resthaven.
