HOLLAND (WHTC) — Ottawa County Sheriff’s detectives are looking for tips after an attempted robbery and mild assault at a Holland Township Westco gas station, at 14 W. Lakewood Blvd.
Police were called for help just before 7 a.m. Witnesses described the suspect as an 18- to 20-year-old white male who is 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 inches tall. Ottawa County Sheriff’s Capt. Mark Bennett said the suspect implied a weapon, but none was seen, as the man demanded cash from a store employee.
When the suspect saw a second employee, he struck that employee in the face. That employee wasn’t injured, Bennett said. The suspect then fled without taking any cash.
