HOLLAND (WHTC) – -Former state lawmaker and Holland native Ed Fredricks has died at 73.
Mr. Fredricks graduated from Holland Christian High School, Calvin College and earned masters degrees in history and sociology from Western Michigan University, according to his obituary.
After serving as the American Vice Consul to the American Embassy in Seoul, South Korea, Mr. Fredricks returned to Michigan and was elected first to the Michigan House of Representatives then to a state senate seat. He was politically active for most of his life and a member of LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church.
Visitation is set for 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, at Langeland-Sterenberg Funeral Home, 315 E. 16th St. in Holland. His funeral is set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Langeland-Sterenberg.
