ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) – During tonight’s business meeting, the Zeeland City Council is expected to vote on whether to approve a 2016 Strategic Action Plan for the Lakeshore community. Among the priorities that council members and city staffers plan to address is: The ongoing tax appeal by Consumers Energy of the assessment for its natural gas-fueled generation station; purchase obsolete property as available for private development; establish a snow melt system in the area of the Howard Miller Library & Community Center; and develop a local hotel for occupancy by the end of 2023.
