HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – You’ll have a chance to adopt a pet in Michigan for free this May 7.
The BISSELL Pet Foundation has named May 7 as Empty the Shelters day where dog and cat adoption fees will be waived. Adoption fees can run from $60 for cats and up to $150 for dogs. On May 7 new pet owners will only be responsible for the licensing fee which can cost from $7 to $12.
The Bissell Pet Foundation will also be giving adopters an AdoptBox which will be filled with pet care guidelines, 30 days of pet insurance, treats and toys, cleaning products and coupons.
20 shelters around the state will be participating in Empty the Shelters day including the Harbor Humane Society in West Olive.
