HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A Holland man fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his vehicle into a utility pole, knocking out power.
Bob Sisouvanh, 24, of Holland was driving westbound on Riley when he ran off the road on the northside of the road and struck a power pole just west of the intersection of Riley and Westshore Drive in Holland.
According to Sgt. Matt Wilfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the power pole broke causing electrical lines to come down across the road. Sisouvanh told deputies he was very tired and had fallen asleep before crashing.
Traffic on Riley was restricted to one lane while Consumers Power installed a new pole and fixed the electrical line.
Sisouvanh who was not injured in the crash was cited for careless driving in the crash.
