HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The boating season is just getting started and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office of the Marine Division wants you vessel to be safe.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office along with the Coast Guard Aux. will be conducting free vessel inspections. Ottawa County Sheriff Sgt. Cal Kuening says it’s important after having your boat stored all winter. Things like life jackets get misplaced, flares are lost when storing your vessel and sometimes batteries on the vessel aren’t working.
If your water craft passes, you will receive the 2016 vessel inspection sticker. Anyone may come with their water craft. Please make sure your battery is on as they do check for navigation lights and other requirements that may need electricity.
The inspections will be at the DNR boat launch parking lot which is between Anchorage Marina and the Yacht Basin Marina off Ottawa Beach Road this Saturday, April 30, from 10:00 -2:00 p.m.
