HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Failure to stop at a stop sign caused a vehicle to roll over into a ditch Sunday, May 1, in Park Township.
According to Sgt. Dean Devries of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Emily Ann Wolters, 25, of Holland was northbound on Butternut and stopped at a four-way intersection while a vehicle driven by James Lloyd Harter, 76, of Big Rapids was eastbound on Quincy. Harter stated he was focused on Wolters’ vehicle and failed to see the stop sign at the intersection.
The impact of Wolters vehicle pushed Harter’s vehicle to the shoulder of the road and beyond, forcing Harter’s vehicle into a ditch, where it rolled over. Harter’s passenger Ruth Ann Harter, 74, of Big Rapids received non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken by ambulance to Holland Hospital.
