HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Step back in time this Tulip Time with Holland high’s production of The Marvelous Wonderettes.
The show takes you to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where four girls with hopes and dreams reunite in the second act at their ten-year reunion. Favorite songs from the 50’s and 60’s are featured with Holland Seniors Emma Martens and Emily Timmer and Juniors Chyna Schut and Anna Ryzenga cast in the show.
Holland High School Theatre competed in the Michigan Interscholastic Theatre Festival State Theatre Finals in February and came home victorious. Holland won the Division 1 state championship, which is their 18th state title under the direction of Kevin J. Schneider. This is Mr. Schneider’s 29th year at Holland High School and his 28th state competition as an HHS director.
The Marvelous Wonderettes also earned Superior Honors (the highest the judges can give) to all four of the actresses at the state theatre finals.
There will be three performances of The Marvelous Wonderettes during Tulip Time – Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14, 7-9 p.m and Sunday, May 15, 2-4 p.m. Performances will take place at the Holland High School Performing Arts Center at 600 Van Raalte Avenue.
