WRIGHT TWP, MI (WHTC) – Failure to stop at a stop sign caused a two-car injury accident in Wright Township Monday evening.
According to Sgt. Matt Wilfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, William Smith 54, of Madison Alabama, was driving a 2016 Toyota Camry west on Arthur Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign at 8th Avenue.
He collided with Shari Gereaux, 44, of Conklin who was driving a 2013 Ford Taurus. After the collision both vehicles crashed into the ditch and Gereaux’s vehicle rolled over. Both drivers were injured and were transported to Spectrum Hospital.
An update on their condition is unknown. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts. The at fault driver Smith was cited for failure to yield right of way.
