HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – When the US-31 widening and renovation project in Holland Township is completed this fall, motorists will not only have a smoother road to drive on, but better light to see it.
The township board last night approved an agreement with Consumers Energy to replace current high pressure sodium street lights with LED illumination at the intersections of the state trunk road with Eighth, James, Riley, Felch, Greenly and Quincy streets. The new lights will be installed at the four corners of those junctions off of steel poles that will also support traffic signals at a cost of around 30 thousand dollars.
The 32 million-dollar road reconstruction of US-31 is underway.
