HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The US-31 project will have right lane closures in place along both directions of James Street and Felch Street at the U.S. 31 intersections starting today, June 7.
The East-West street lane closures will be in place for approximately one week at each intersection. During that time at least one lane in each direction will be maintained at all times. Closures will be needed along Riley and 8th as well and will likely begin later this week or early next week. After the week of closures all lanes on the side roads will be reopened.
MDOT says the single lane closures on the side streets are needed to get as much work done ahead of the 4-day total closures of the intersections as possible. The goal is to minimize the risk of not being able to get everything done in the 4 day total closures and having that run longer than planned. The total closures of the intersections for reconstruction are still 2-3 weeks off.
Today will be the last day for single lane closures on SB for work in the median of US-31. Expect a right lane closure for U.S. 31 SB traffic between Ransom and Quincy Streets today from approximately 8 a.m. till 3 p.m. Follow MDOT on Twitter.
