6/15 Wednesday: Farmers Market at Eighth Street Market Place- Buy fresh produce, flowers, plants, baked goods, meats cheeses, spices and more from over 50 vendors. Enjoy breakfast or lunch at our Food Court. And from June 8 to August 24, we have Kids Activities starting at 9:30am. 150 West Eighth Street, Holland; 8am-2pm.
6/16 Thursday: 3rd Annual Trail Trot 5K & Activities at Van Raalte Farm Park to support DeGraaf Nature Center- ll Ages are welcome! Run wild at the DeGraaf Nature Center Trail Trot 5K! Join your family and friends on this fun run along the trails at VanRaalte Farm Park complete with pre-race activities, live animals, kid’s run, 5K main event, and a post-race marshmallow roast. Non time related prizes will also be given. The event kicks off with live animals, pre-race games and activities, and Roach Madness cockroach racing at 5:30 pm with kids’ runs starting at 6:30 pm. Proceeds from the event will help with our ongoing entryway improvement project at the center. 6/18 Saturday: Juneteenth Celebration 2016 at Kollen Park- African American Awareness and Development Organization (AAADO)is honored to invite you to the 16th annual Juneteenth Celebration in Holland Michigan! “Juneteenth or June 19, 1865, is celebrated as the date when enslavement ended in America. Although the rumors of freedom were widespread prior to this, actual emancipation did not come until General Gordon Granger came to Galveston, Texas and issued General Order #3 on the “19th of June,” almost two and a half years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.” 240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland; 1pm-8pm; Free.
