ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, MI (WHTC) – Two motorcyclists were injured in crash on Lake Michigan Drive Friday afternoon.
Bruce Ivie, 48, and Amy Ivie, 47, were transported to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital after falling off of their motorcycle at around 3:26 p.m. yesterday, according to Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.
The investigation into the crash shows that the Ivies were travelling on Lake Michigan Drive, two cars behind 58-year-old Darlene Clements of Grand Haven. Clements slowed down to turn onto a private drive and a pickup truck that was following behind her passed by using the right shoulder of the road, kicking up a cloud of dirt in the process.
Bruce Ivie, who was driving the motorcycle with Amy in the passenger seat, was unable to see Clements vehicle due to the dust and slammed into it. Both Bruce and Amy were thrown from the motorcycle. The couple were also both wearing helmets during the crash and were transported to the hospital in stable condition.
