HOLLAND (WTHC) — A Fennville campground is blending a summer tradition with a tribute and fundraiser for victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting.
The Campit Outdoor Resort Saugatuck is hosting a Summer Solstice weekend, which kicks off with a meet and greet evening weenie roast, followed by a burning tree ceremony where participants will give thanks and honor the Orlando shooting victims.
Campit announced via Facebook it will take donations from the campers for the Orlando victims and match the donations.
Saturday is filled with social events including a beach party and evening cookoutand at 10 p.m., a full-moon pool party and stargazing.
The evening wraps up with a Sunday morning coffee social.
The moon won’t turn precisely full until June 20 at 7:02 a.m. EDT. Every full moon has a nickname: June’s is the Strawberry Moon.
