HOLLAND (WTHC) — A 49-year-old Holland woman is in critical condition after an traffic incident Friday afternoon, according to Holland Police Capt. Bob Buursma.
Police and firefighters were summoned at 3:30 p.m. and found an unconscious woman lying on the side of 40th Street, near Pine Avenue.
She’d been a passenger in a 1994 Chevy pickup driven by her mother, a 67-year-old Holland woman. The truck has been eastbound on 40th Street when its brakes failed, Buursma said, and for “an unknown reason,” the younger woman leapt form the vehicle.
She was taken by ambulance to Holland Hospital, where she is in critical condition.
