HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Exercise your brain with the activities on this week’s list of things to do in the Holland area!
6/20 Monday: Healthy Brain Summit at Evergreen Commons- Join Evergreen for the Healthy Brain Summit June 20 -23, 2015. This 4-day event is for everyone 50 and older. The first three days you will learn from area experts in the field of Brain Health while the fourth day will give everyone a chance to experience, hands-on, a vast sampling of fun, interactive, and informative activities from poetry to cartooning, juggling to dancing, and meditation to aromatherapy and yoga. The Healthy Brain Summit takes a holistic look at total brain health while engaging the mind, body, and spirit. Highlights of the Healthy Brain Summit include; 3 days of a Box Lunch Speaker Series featuring experts in the area of brain health, followed by a half-day Brain Fitness Fair on Thursday, June 23. All Box Lunch Speaker Series sessions begin at 12:15 and will take place in the Seminar Room at The Commons of Evergreen. 6/21 Tuesday: Ice Cream Family Bike Ride at Velo City Cycles- Family-friendly bike ride (all ages/levels welcome) followed by ice cream provided by Hudsonville Creamery! Meet at Velo City Cycles. We ride out and around Windmill Island Gardens and back to the bike shop. Helmets required. 326 S River Ave, Holland; 6:30 p.m.; Free.
6/22 Wednesday: Job Fair at Employment Solutions Holland- Immediate openings available in the Holland area, many paying at least $12/hr! 196 S River Ave, Holland; 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; Free.
6/23 Thursday: FREE Community Class at Girlfriend’s Fit Club- 2975 West Shore Drive, Holland; 5:15pm-6:15pm; Free.
6/24 Friday: Hope Summer Repertory Theatre: Oedipus- Secrecy, intrigue, conspiracy — words that could be ripped from today’s headlines, but instead they underscore the world of this breathtaking classic. Oedipus arrives at Thebes a stranger and finds the town under the curse of the Sphinx, who will not free the city unless her riddle is answered. He solves the riddle and becomes king, but quickly learns that no one escapes their destiny. Considered one of the greatest tragedies ever written, Oedipus will be a production you won’t soon forget. 141 East 12th Street, Holland; 8pm; $27-$30.
6/25 Saturday: Euro Hangar Car Show at Park Township Airport- Bring your friends, neighbors, relatives and coworkers! They encourage as many people to come as possible. During the day on Saturday, there will also be a children’s area, as well as door prizes and sponsor giveaways. 1269 Ottawa Beach Road, Park Twp; 11am-5pm; Free.
6/26 Sunday: Koinonia Party in the Park at Wendt Park- the Young Adults Ministry at Calvary is hosting an evening of fun and fellowship! Food will be provided, just bring a friend and be prepared to play a game of Kickball! 2500 Lilac Ave, Holland; 5 PM – 8 PM; Free.
