HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Douglas City Council passed a resolution Tuesday night, July 5, that has condemned state transgender legislation.
The bills would have prohibited transgender people from using public restrooms or showers that are not in accord with their birth gender.
The Holland Sentinel reports that Douglas Mayor Jim Wiley says he was offended that the Legislature is more interested in legislating bathrooms then fixing the roads.
In Saugatuck the City Council is also looking to pass a similar resolution.
