HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland High’s new principal Katie Pennington is settling into her new role.
Pennington has been in the district since Spring, shadowing retired principal Deb Feenstra. Pennington says one of the things that attracted her to Holland over any place else is the heritage, but that doesn’t mean the district is stagnant. She says this district is progressive.
Pennington graduated from the University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in history and French and earned her master’s in educational leadership from Western Michigan University.
You may recall that Pennington was in the news when she gave a single-day suspension to 65 Kenowa Hills seniors who participated in a senior class 3-mile bike ride to school without informing school officials.
Pennington told WHTC morning news that the biggest thing she brings to Holland High is experience having been a principal at two different schools.
