HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – So far, so good.
Those are the words of Michigan Department of Transportation officials as the rebuilding of US-31 in Holland Township ramps up. According to Leo Evans of the Muskegon M-DOT office, “there will be lots of traffic changes coming up in the next couple of weeks.”
The current focus is on intersection reconstructions, with Felch Street taken care of before the Independence Day holiday, while Riley Street is blocked off at US-31 this week. Next week, Quincy and James streets will have barricades placed and detours marked off in similar fashion, with 8th Street targeted for the week of July 18th, along with the closing of the southbound US-31 ramp to Lakewood Boulevard for a three-week stretch.
Evans adds that “we are still on schedule and hope to have southbound work completed for this stage in early to mid-August” in order to begin rebuilding the northbound lanes between 8th and Ransom streets.
