GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A trial in Ottawa County Circuit Court that was slated to begin on Thursday has been pushed back.
Judge Ed Post rescheduled for October 18th the trial for 27-year-old Edwind Serrato, who faces assault with intent to murder and felony firearm charges stemming from a February 14th shooting incident at a home on Holland’s North Side. The defense for Serrato asked for the adjournment, in part, to get more information regarding what sheriff’s detectives found out about the 21-year-old victim. Prosecutors claim that the incident was gang-related.
Serrato remains held in the Ottawa County Jail on 250 thousand dollars bond, and could face life in prison if convicted.
