GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – This is another red flag day for beaches along Lake Michigan in West Michigan.
The National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids has issued a Beach Hazards Statement from St. Joseph north to Manistee. North winds from 15 to 25 miles per hour will create three to five foot waves, with strong structural and longshore currents expected, along with possible rip currents. North Beach in South Haven and the beach at Holland State Park have been singled out as having “particularly dangerous conditions today.”
The statement runs through 2 AM on Saturday.
