UNDATED (WHTC) – Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins will play the upcoming NFL season under the team’s franchise player tag. The Holland Christian High graduate and the team were not able to agree on a long-term contract by Friday’s deadline. Cousins will be paid slightly less than $20 million for the 2016 season. He becomes the first NFL quarterback to play under the “franchise player” tag since Drew Brees played the 2005 season in San Diego.
