HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – You won’t see many of West Michigan’s politicians making appearances at this years Republican National Convention but you will see Michigan’s Attorney General and a rock star.
The convention starts at 1 p.m. today from Cleveland and the list of those who willl not be present in the GOP is longer than the list of those attending.
Those not attending include St. Joseph Congressman Fred Upton and Governor Rick Snyder.; Zeeland Congressman Bill Huizenga is in Cleveland and will check in on the WHTC Morning News around 8:15 AM on Thursday.
Michigan Attorney General Bill Schutte will speak today with a three-minute slot at 2:15 p.m and will attend the convention all week. State Representive Mary Whiteford of Allegan County will attend the convention as well. Schutte is the only member of the Michigan delegation speaking this year.
Detroit’s own Kid Rock will perform and close the convention Thursday night.
