HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A 32-year-old Grant man was killed after crashing his 2001 Yukon in Chester Township.
According to Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 2 at the intersection of Coolidge Street and 40th Avenue. Gricel Ramirez was traveling west on Coolidge Street and failed to stop at the stop sign at 40th Avenue. He drove across 40th Avenue and crashed into a ditch.
Investigation shows that a homeowner leaving for work observed a vehicle in a ditch. Upon checking the vehicle, Ramirez was found unresponsive and not breathing.
Ramirez was not wearing his seatbelt and alcohol is suspected as a factor.
The crash remains under investigation.
