HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An underwater drone startup company called Fathom is run by three recent Hope College graduates and they kick off their Kickstarter campaign tonight.
Lakeshore Advantage in Holland has been assisting the startup company for the past year. The company also received support from GR Current and Start Garden over the past two years.
According to Lakeshore Advantage, The Fathom One is the world’s first underwater drone that the average consumer can reasonably afford. At $600, it is less than half the price of the closest competitor, with all the bells and whistles. Stream HD 1080p live underwater video to your smart device and share directly to social media.
Patent pending modular technology will allow a user to replace thrusters and plug in special attachments down the road, for a brand new experience with the same base model.
The Kickstarter campaign will kick off with a party open to the public at 5:30 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, August 30, at the Grand Rapids Public Museum.
