ANN ARBOR, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The University of Michigan hosts Rutgers tonight in the Wolverines’ first action without head men’s basketball coach Juwan Howard.
Howard was suspended for the rest of the regular season after a post game altercation at the University of Wisconsin Sunday. U of M players Moussa Diabate and Terrance Williams the second will not be in the lineup tonight as they serve their one-game suspensions.
Michigan assistant coach Phil Martelli will take Howard’s place on the bench.
Michigan State University head coach Tom Izzo says he’s not in favor of eliminating the handshake line after college basketball games. The tradition is being questioned by some after Sunday’s post game incident between Michigan head coach Juwan Howard and Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard.
Earlier this week Izzo said it would be the biggest farce he’s ever heard if the practice of the handshake line is ended.
