PORT SHELDON TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 17-year-old Zeeland woman was critically injured in a single-vehicle crash north of Holland on Saturday afternoon.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christie Wendt, the unnamed driver was northbound on West Olive Road around 4 PM, “traveling at a high rate of speed,” when she drove through a stop sign at Croswell Street and her vehicle slammed into a concrete porch of an unoccupied building. The buckled up motorist was pinned and had to be extricated by first responders.
The woman was flown to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital for treatment in critical but stable condition. The crash remains under investigation.
