HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Enjoy everything you love about Fall this weekend in downtown Holland with Fall Fest.
All the fun kicks off Friday, October 14 at 3 p.m. with eight of the nation’s best professional pumpkin carvers creating their magic and displaying the jack-o-lanterns as they glow in the evening hours. The festival also features hayrides, games and crafts.
On Saturday the Holland Farmer’s Market will be in full swing with plenty of fall goodies for sale from 10-1 p.m. and the pumpkin carvers will be at it again until 7 p.m.
Sally Laukitis is Executive Director of the Holland Visitors Bureau and says Fall brings a lot of business to Holland.” Fall is huge in fact we just got our hotel occupancies for the month of September and it was the highest occupancy in September we’ve ever run in 25 years with the most number of hotel rooms. We’re running over 70%.”
The fact that there are more hotel rooms than there were 25 years ago adds to that number. Laukitis says when she started at the Convention and Visitors Bureau there were 750 hotel rooms and now there are 1,642 with another hotel on the north side on James street being built.
Fall Fest runs Friday, October 14-Saturday October 15 in downtown Holland.
