HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Those facing homelessness this fall and winter in the Holland area don’t need to face it alone.
That’s the thrust of a four-hour open house this afternoon at the Holland Rescue Mission’s Gateway center off of East 24th Street. Beginning at 2:30 PM, Ottawa Connect: Linking to Opportunities and Basic Needs will connect those with needs with those who can provide those needs, according to Community Impact Coordinator Amanda Telgenhof of the Greater Ottawa County United Way, who is hosting the event.
“The primary focus of the event is to bring people in Ottawa County who are either homeless or at risk of becoming homeless together so that they can receive services from area service providers,” she told host Ed Ver Schure in an appearance on “WHTC Talk of the Town” yesterday.
Some of those services include housing assessments, health care enrollment, dental and medical services, employment and education services, along with personal needs. For more information, go here.
