HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Although “no action or vote will be taken at a Study Session,” that doesn’t mean that there won’t be an active gathering of Holland City Council this evening.
The 5:30 PM session includes an update on developing the Washington School Park at the site of the former Washington School, with “one of the major features,” according to City Manager Ryan Cotton, is replacing the playground structure with a site that would have proposed Nature Based-play equipment installed. Other matters to be discussed include possible changes to the city’s ordinances allowing dogs in certain city parks and not in others; adjusting closing times at city parks to cut down on those who camp out and make messes at various venues; add Centennial Park to the lists of public parks where alcohol can’t be sold, served, possessed or consumed; and a status report on the constructing of a non-motorized pathway connecting Windmill Island with Holland Township.
Some of these matters may be put onto the agenda for City Council’s next business meeting next Wednesday evening. Tonight’s work-study session in the second floor Training Center is open to the public.
