HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The Holland City Council has approved $13.56 million in bonds for the Civic Center Project.
After decades and thousands of dollars of studies, the Civic Center plans are in place. The building’s square footage will be expanded and fixtures will be updated inproving the facility.
The panel approved a resolution authorizing the issuing of Limited Tax General Obligation Bonds in the amount of 13 million, 560 thousand dollars.
Although Council had initially capped the amount of debt for the Civic Center building at 10 million, the additional amount would be directed towards snowmelt transmission costs that would facilitate the district heat component of the project. City Manager Ryan Cotton said that the bonds would likely be issued in early December.
