On Holland’s North Side, West Ottawa entertains Caledonia in a boys’/girls’ doubleheader. Coverage of the boys’ game with Greg Chandler begins at 5:40 PM on 99 7/1450 WHTC.
Meanwhile, in Fennville, the Blackhawks host Saugatuck in a girls’/boys’ twin bill, the annual “Never Forgotten” benefit for the Wes Leonard Heart Team. Eric Van Swol’s coverage of both games starts at 5:40 PM on The Lakeshore’s 92 7 The Van.
Other boys’/girls’ doubleheaders on tap include Allendale versus Holland Christian at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place and Hamilton at Fruitport, while Black River visits Grand River Prep in a girls’/boys’ twin bill.
Opposite fixture match ups have Holland’s boys at Reeths-Puffer, with the girls meeting in the Dutch Dome; Zeeland East’s boys entertaining Wyoming, with the Wolves hosting the girls’ game; and Zeeland West’s boys at Grand Rapids Union, with the Dux hosting the girls’ game.

Grand Valley State swept a doubleheader from the Davenport Panthers in Caledonia last night. Ellie Droste tallied 15 points as the Lakers took the women’s opener, 54-44, before the visiting men captured the nightcap, 71-67, behind 24 points from Isaac Gassman. GVSU’s teams stay home to welcome the Northwood Timberwolves in a doubleheader tomorrow afternoon.
In state major-college basketball last night, Michigan won at Iowa, 84-79, but Eastern Michigan fell to Buffalo, 83-69. This evening, Detroit is home to Northern Kentucky and Oakland entertains Wright State.

Pius Suter scored in the sixth round of the shootout as the Red Wings outlasted the Rangers in New York last night, 3-2. Detroit is off until the Colorado Avalanche comes to Little Caesars Arena on Wednesday evening.
Patrik Laine had a three-goal hat trick as the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets downed the Blackhawks last night, 7-4. Chicago awaits the arrival of the Florida Panthers to the United Center on Sunday afternoon.
