HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Most of us have never seen the city of Holland from 400 feet up, but now that the City of Holland has purchased a DJI Inspire Pro 1 drone, you’ll be seeing a lot more of it.
The Pilot in Command is Multimedia Specialist Kevin Lee. He obtained a part 107 remote pilot certification with a small unmanned aircraft system (small UAS) in October. Check out the latest video from Holland State Park.
The drone has a 4k camera capable of taking video and photos as well as livestream for Facebook. It is operated by two people: one person will operate the drone while the other person controls the camera.
This past summer the City of Holland surpassed 1 million views on social media. The City of Holland has their own YouTube channel and you’ll find them on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Flickr. They utilize social media and broadcast content as means to connect with residents and showcase the community.
The Holland Cable TV team of 2 have won 7 Telly awards and has been nominated for a 2016 Michigan Emmy award.
