HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A benefit concert for an Ottawa County paramedic who was seriously injured while on the job is this Sunday, November 20.
American Medical Response EMT Tim Hoffman was injured while riding in the back of the ambulance after responding to a crash on Blue Star Highway near 141st Avenue on August 7, 2016. An apparently drunken pickup truck driver caused a two-vehicle crash with the ambulance between Saugatuck and Holland that hospitalized three persons.
WOOD TV 8 reports that on Thursday, November 17, Hoffman had a plate in his head replaced where a bone was damaged and removed after the crash. Hoffman’s Father John who is an AMR paramedic and instructor has been updating his condition on his Facebook page stating that Tim could be coming home within a week.
The benefit concert is at Ottawa Reformed Church located at 11390 Stanton Street in West Olive. The concert begins at 4 p.m. and will feature the Lake Effect Choir and Ah Men! Donations are encouraged.
A GoFundMe page has been set up on behalf of the family.
The case has now been handed over to the The Allegan County Prosecutor’s Office.
